How this result is produced

The tool begins with the selected source, optionally trims clear outer margins, and applies restrained contrast or monochrome changes before exporting at the requested dimensions.

Practical example

For a 600 × 200 pixel signature, trim blank margins only until the faintest stroke remains intact. Inspect the preview at full size before exporting. Choose PNG when the receiving form accepts transparency; choose JPG with a deliberate solid background when it does not.

Limits and troubleshooting

  • Automatic margin trimming is conservative and may leave some whitespace.
  • Always inspect faint strokes before submitting the result.

If trimming clips a stroke, disable it and crop more loosely. If faint ink disappears, reduce the contrast or monochrome adjustment; use a smaller source only when the browser cannot create the preview.

Questions people ask

Can I keep transparency?

Yes when exporting PNG or WebP. JPG does not support transparency and uses the selected background.

Transparency is different from removing paper

PNG and WebP can preserve transparent pixels already present in the source. A scan or photograph of white paper is usually opaque; choosing PNG does not automatically erase the paper. Automatic margin trimming removes outside space, not the background around ink.

Inspect every stroke after trimming and contrast changes. Monochrome conversion applies a threshold and can alter subtle edges, so compare against the original before using it. A dimension or format check does not authenticate a signature.
